It's Growing!!!!

It's my bag:
I am so thrilled to say that I am knitting right along on my MarketSquares bag. I love it. It is so easy, now that I finally figured it out. I hope to knit many more entrelac things.
Other knitting stuff:
I got my order from Threadbear. Beautiful LornasLace Shepherds Sock yarn. I got it in the color called Sushine. I plan to make some Daffodil socks for Annie. I think that I will cast on in a couple days. I am watching Jared tomorrow, so I won't have the concentration time. I plan to knit them 2 on 2 circs. I will try to get my swatch knitting done tomorrow. I can hardly wait to see the finished socks. They should be bright and cheery, like walking on sunshine, which is just where I hope all my girls will always be walking.
I got 15 pair of baby booties from that RH Giant skein. Now to make myself sew them up and get them in the mail to Parkland Hosp.
Gotta get back to my bag,

Yippee, Skippee!!

I'm just so excited! I was so scared of the Marketsquares BAL, and now that I finally figured it out I feel kind of silly. It really is no big deal. I can't wait to finish up what has become my "never ending bootie project", then I will be able to get busy on the bag.
Speaking of the bootie project, I had a one pound skein of RH in baby pastels that I wanted to use up and Parkland Hospital and Warm Hearts/WArm Babies both are in dire need of booties. So, I decided to knit up the whole skein into booties. I thought this morning that I would get it done today. Hah! Not so. I must have enough yarn for 3 or 4 more booties. I haven't counted yet, but I think that I have about eleven and a half or 12 pair done so far. I hope to finish up tomorrow night during the Westminster Dog Show.
I also need to catch up with the Mystery sweater knit along. And I promised to teach a internet friend how to do a dog sweater like the one that I did for Bitsie. No scarcety of projects. And I like it that way.
on the computing front:
I still haven't had some quiet time to see if I can figure out more about how to enhance this blog. I want to add links and be able to share pics of my projects and my precious little fur babies. Well, everything in its time. And, yes I am still coughing and sneezing. Drat!
I'm knittin' fast as I kin,

The Cold of the Decade/Century

Snort, sniffle, snuffle, yek!! I haven't had a cold come on this fast and be this bad in years. I was not missing it. My head feels like it's in a barrel. I am a veritable walking herbal remedy store.
On the knitting front:
After knitting 6 pair of booties on sunday for the K4C Knitathon, I found a much better pattern at Michelle Howards site, oohbabyknits. Dont have the energy to figure out how to creat a link right now. This pattern is so easy and fast, it will be the one for me , now.
I still have to do days 5,6,7.8.9.10 of the Mystery knit alon on the babysweater list. I hope to feel better over thte weekend and be able to catch up on the and some other things that are hanging fire, while I spend my time between the bed and the tea kettle.
Hope to be back soon with some FO's to report.

I Did It!!!

Yeah for me!!!!
I actually figured out how to add the Michigan Knits button to my sidebar. Of course, it took so long to figure it out that I don't have time to knit anymore tonight. But, I don't care. I'm so excited to have figured out anything on this blog. I can catch up on my knitting tomorrow. I only had plans to knit, anyway. Hooray! for my side!!!!!
Calling it a good night,

It's a Froggy Day

I frogged my Mystery KAL today. No regrets! I don't consider frogging to be a negative thing if I know that I will like the next version better. I had started the sweater with white Simply Soft, not knowing if I was starting at the top or bottom of the sweater. Now that I am pretty sure that we are starting at the bottom, I want to use a different color. I chose a soft pale yellow. You can tell that I am a farm girl, by the fact that the color and sheen of the yarn remind me of what my Daddy used to call the "blister" stage of the sweet corn that he raised when I was a child. Hmmm, I remember him selling it for $1.00/bushel. Anyway, this yarn is the same color as the corn in the blister stage and I just love it. That's kind of strange since I don't really care much for the color yellow in general. I have re-knit thru row 12 and hope to get thru row 24 before I retire for the night.

Blogger-land
I went all around the Blogger site and tried to figure out what I am going to need to do in order to post pictures and links on this blog. Can you say: "clear as mud"???!!!! I guess that eventually it will get clearer, or I will find someone to hold my hand and walk me thru it. I can always hope, right? Have pics and links, just don't know what to do with them.
Back to my needles,

Busy -busy!

The class at the Safe Shelter would have been a bust if it wasn't for having such and enthusiastic student. When I first got volunteered to teach there, they thought that I would have about 6 students. Two days before the class they said there might only be 3 students. Well, I guess 1 student is better than none. A young woman named Nicole was the only student, but she was really anxious to learn and jumped right in and took to knitting like a duck takes to water!!
She chose some rosy pink Super Saver that I took along and was busy knitting a scarf with it when I left.

I think the population at the shelter fluctuates frequently. So, it is possible that some of the people that were expected actually were no longer living at the shelter by the time the class took place. I am very glad that I did it, anyway. And I would do it again if the opportunity comes up.

On the knitting front:
I still need to get busy on the Marketsquares BAL. I just can't seem to bring myself to tackle that new technique of knitting that entrelac(well, new to me!). I was just reading Stitches of Violet and Marguerite mentioned something similar. She is so right! I really need to challenge myself. How else can I grow as a knitter and as a person? I am going to plan to put aside some time over the weekend to give the entrelac a try.

I am working on the knit along on the Babysweater list. Poor Gail made a mistake in the pattern and we all have to do some tinking back. No problem for me. I was sorry that I didn't start that sweater with a different color, anyway. So, I am going to just start it over with a soft green instead of white that I was using. Every cloud has its silver lining!

I finished the linen colored hat with the Cha Cha furry band. It really is nice. I got some more yarn to make a matching scarf and I think I will send the set to Stand Up For Kids. I may get some more of the red yarn and re-knit the furry scarf to match the red hat and send it along too. I can't imagine being homeless, not to mention homeless and a teen in the winter in Colorado!

I can't remember if I mentioned it, but I finished the little blue Suzanne's Matinee Jacket. It is really cute. I would make the sleeves shorter next time. Hmmmmm, did I already post that?
Senior moment!????

On the personal side of things:
I went to the ear, nose, and throat dr, yesterday. She feels certain that I have apnea. I brought home a SNAP monitor. I did the test last night. Oh, boy!! what fun! Uh-uh. Not true. I just hope that the test shows something and we can get on with treatment. Maybe, we can clear up some of this brain fog that I have.
Enough of that! I have to go get my needles clicking.
