Back Again! How long?

I'm Back!!!
I don't know what happened but my puter was on strike. It even went so far as to tell me that I had to re-install windows, I didn't. I just let it rest a couple of weeks and booted it up and here I am!!!
On the knitting front:
I am working on a sweater for the CIC. I hope to finish it this weekend. I would like to make one more before the challenge is over on Oct. 31. I am making this one out of two strands of Lion Brand Fishermans wool that I dyed with food colors and kool-aid. The main color is a nice golden tan that I got using Wilton colors and right now I am using a funny cherry red for the yoke that I did with Kool-aid. I think that I will run out of the red, but I have some nice lite sky blue that I got from some left over rit that I dyed some slipcovers for the sun porch. I will finish with some of that If I run out of red and tan. Its a pattern from tthe Ann Budd book that I recently got.
Scarves Anyone?:
I have been knitting scarves. I made two with the Multi-directional triangle pattern from Iris Schreier. I love this new way of knitting and I am becoming fairly proficient at knitting backward. I find it fun, now that I have completed 2 projects with it.
Charity knitting:
The pic above is a picture of some of my charity knitting. This is scarves and hats that I sent to Stand UP for KIds. This is my first attemp to put pics in my blog. Soo, I'm not sure if it is going to work.
I started a preemie hat this afternoon . I like to have something really easy to knit while I'm reading my e-mail. So it is usually some easy charity knitting project.
I hope my puter continues to work so that I can get back to reading my e-mail and blogging on a regular basis. I have been going to the library to read, but they only allow you to be online for 1 hour. That doesn't get a lot of reading done, when you belong to about a dozen yahoo groups, even going to "digest" takes a while to read.
Hope to be back soon,
Happy knitting,
DJ

Knitting Backwards!!!????

Oh, Boy! what Fun

I can;t beleive that I have spent the better part of the day trying to learn to knit backwards, of all things. I joined a multi-directional knitting group and it seems that knitting backward is a big part of the process. So, before I start the necessary tutorials, I have been trying to learn to knit backward. I'm sure that I have 10 thumbs.! This is really hard on the carpal tunnel, too. But. I will perservere.

On the needles:

I have started a hat for an acquaintance who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
I am also trying to adapt/design a sweater pattern for a toddler size sweater for CIC. Have a scarf going for Stand UP for Kids. Have a hat going for them too.

Puter problems:
I am having a bunch of computer problems, so I am going to have to spend the next few days trying to iron them out. With my limited knowledge this is not going to be easy. However, I either have to try this or just quit using this old dinosaur. Of course, I may lose it in the process of trying to take care of my problems, but the risk is the same whether I work on it or not. So, I shall try.
Keep those needles going,
DJ

They're in the Mail!

CIC sox mailed
Well, they are on their way, 9 little pair of wool sox. 90 warm little toesies coming right up! I also mailed 30 preemie hats and 4 pr. of preemie booties to Univ. Med. Ctr. in Lubbock, TX.
Yarn! She bought yarn?!
Oh, I know that someone with 2(count em) 2- bushel folding totes full of wool yarn for CIC really doesn't need to buy more yarn. I just can't help it. I get these 40% off coupons from JoAnns and I can't let them go to waste. hee-hee! So, I use them to buy yet more Lion Brand Fishermans Wool. Besides, I'm really in the mood to dye, again. And how else can I have lots of colors for socks and vests and sweaters for CIC? I'm helpless, what can I say? Shhh, we aren't going to mention the big bins of Lopi. Shhhhh!
Gotta run,
DJ
