Whoo-hoo! fun stuff

just arrived from the Fedex Man! Ooooh, I could get to like him, as long as he continues to bring me boxes of yummy softness like this. LOL I ordered some of the superfine blue-faced leicester(sp?) lambswool from matahari spinnery.com.
they are having a special this month on this roving. $14.00US for 1 pound of roving! They shipped from Houston, TX on Fri. and I have it already, here in Michigan. It is so soft and lovely. And even smells yummy, I ordered a bar of Wild Indigo oatmeal-lavender goats milk soap, too. Ha, in my excitement I took the picture with the back of the label showing. This fiber is only on sale for a few more days, and part of the profits go to charity. Doubly good, because I am going to be using the resulting yarn for charity knitting for the CIC kids!. Couldn't get better than that!
Now to finish the fiber that I am spinning and get this fluff on the wheel.
Gotta go spin!

Another Hat!

I finished another hat for 'Stand Up For Kids'.
Yarn: Lion Brand Homespun
Needle: size 11 circular
Gauge: 8 sts = 4 inches(approx)
Using 2 strands held together, cast on 42 st. Join and place marker for beginning of round. Knit 1 round, purl 1 round(garter) for approx. 3 inches. This forms the 'cuff'. Next round: knit 19 st, knit 2 together, knit 19 sts, knit 2 together(40st remain) Knit every round(stockinette) for 6 to 6 1/2 inches.
Next round is the beginning of the decrease for the crown. Knit 8, knit 2 together all around. Continue to decrease in this manner, having 1 less stitch before the knit 2 together on each round, until there are 8 sts remaining. Break yarn and fasten off, weave in ends and enjoy the warmth! This is a very thick, warm and cozy hat, great for the homeless and anyone who needs a really warm hat.
Please consider knitting one of these hats for charity. Help warm the world!
The copyright on this pattern belongs to DJ Langer-Street, I freely give it to anyone who will use it for their own personal use or for charity giving. It may not be used in any way to gain profit. Please be kind.
while the picture is lacking in clarity, I think you can see that it is a very nice hat. someday I will get a new camera, until then we are stuck with just so-so piccies.
