April Showers of the knitting kind!

Knitting for Children yahoo group is having an April Shower for the University of Kentucky Medical Center NICU, in memory of our dear Nancy Scott, who passed away about a year and a half ago. Some members are blitzing hats, booties, blankets for the NICU to give to their preemies. Here is a picture(looks bad on my monitor) of the 12 hats that I have blitzed so far this week. I am using Bernat Softee and a G crochet hook with Bev Qualheim's pattern from Bev's Country Cottage. The pattern is called Hats, Hats, Hats! I will be blitzing all weekend, too. I hope to knit booties next weekend. I think from what I am seeing on the list, that we are going to come close to our goal for the whole year in the month of April. That would be wonderful!

I have a pair of boot socks to finish this weekend for DD # 1, but that shouldn't take long. I have a couple rounds to knit on the toe decreases and then just graft them and work in the ends. I don't think I will be seeing her until later in the week, next week, anyway.

I haven't mailed any charity knitting in so very long, I'm ashamed to say. I will be so happy to put some things in the mail for this month. I have some socks to get in the mail for Children in Common, too, for Aprils challenge.

The wind has been fierce here this week and we got some nice wave pictures of Lake Michigan again, yesterday. Love that lake!

I rode with DD#3 to take DGS to his Dad's tonight. We had a nice visit and stopped at nice locally owned pancake house and had a great breakfast for dinner. LOL We get to spend almost no time together now that she is working again, so this was very nice.
Gotta go get the crochet hook smokin'. DJ

How wonderful to see that you are blitzing using my Hats, Hats, Hats, pattern!

I am always so thrilled to see people actually using my patterns. Makes it all worthwhile.

Thank you so much!
